Airborne and Other Cold and Flu Remedies May Lead to Migraines
During this season of colds and fall allergies you may be searching for a
natural remedy to alleviate or ward off respiratory problems. For many people
these may be helpful without causing any additional problem. That may
not be the case if you also suffer from migraines.
Many products contain ingredients that can bring on or trigger a severe migraine
attack. These migraines may come on suddenly or after a few days of use in which
case it is much harder to determine the source of the problem.
Airborne’s list of ingredient includes two substances, glutamine and
lysine, that may be problematic for migraineurs. Glutamine is generally considered
to be the same ingredient found in MSG. Glutamine and lysine are both on our
list of migraine triggers and should avoided by anyone who has a history of migraines.
Always read labels and investigate the ingredients. Keep in mind that just because
it says all-natural or you bought it in a health food store, doesn't
mean it won’t give you a headache.
See trigger list for other ingredients and products to avoid.
